big pharma lies and statins

The belief spread by big pharma lies and statins that LDL-cholesterol levels can accurately predict future cardiovascular events forms the absolute cornerstone of modern cardiology.

In practice high LDL, (or even moderately high LDL), results in the immediate prescription for an LDL-lowering statin drug.

The authors of the scientific paper “Development and validation of a ceramide- and phospholipid-based cardiovascular risk estimation score for coronary artery disease patients,” (18 June 2019) which was published in the very respected European Heart Journal, concluded that there is a very tenuous association between LDL-cholesterol and predicting outcomes.

This scientifically verified that physicians effectively lack any rationale for prescribing statins. Given that statins additionally have in excess of three hundred potential adverse effects, including heart failure, there is scarce justification for prescribing them at all.

Even more damning to the cause of big pharma lies and statins is the vigorous response to three scientific reviews published by statin advocates. The response to these reviews was an article by respected biochemists and clinical pharmacologists, published in the respected Expert Review of Clinical Pharmacology. (The full article may be found online)

The authors stated that:

“For half a century, a high level of total cholesterol (TC) or low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) has been considered to be the major cause of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease (CVD), and statin treatment has been widely promoted for cardiovascular prevention. However, there is an increasing understanding that the mechanisms are more complicated and that statin treatment, in particular when used as primary prevention, is of doubtful benefit.”

Their conclusion was particularly damning:

“…the conclusions of the authors of the three reviews are based on misleading statistics, exclusion of unsuccessful trials and by ignoring numerous contradictory observations.”

One may conclude that the rationale for the uncontrolled prescribing of these drugs is founded on a staggering level of deception, flawed science and distortion of actual facts.

Big pharma lies and statins are deeply flawed – natural ways to prevent high cholesterol are clearly the answer to this problem – not dubious pharmaceuticals.
